Xbox Users Can Now Selectively Disable Quick Resume for Individual Games – Digitio

Microsoft is now allowing Xbox users to disable the Quick Resume feature on a per-game basis. Originally piloted with Xbox Insiders in March, this option is being deployed as part of the April Xbox update alongside other new console and PC app settings.

When the Xbox Series S and X debuted, Quick Resume was a key selling point, allowing players to suspend multiple games and switch between them without losing progress, even after powering off the console. However, certain titles requiring constant internet connectivity, such as MMOs, often failed to resume properly, causing players to be returned to the main menu or forced to restart. This new toggle gives users control to avoid these interruptions for incompatible games.

Beyond Quick Resume, the update includes the ability to pin more game groups to the home screen, customize interface colors, and improve access to game history. The Xbox PC app now supports using any gamepad as a mouse, pinning games in recent lists, and adding any installed app to the library. Additionally, ASUS ROG Xbox Ally handhelds are receiving a test of the new Automatic Super Resolution feature.

This wave of updates reflects a strategic shift under new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma to recommit to the gaming brand. Recent changes include a reduction in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate pricing, lowering the top tier from $30 to $23 per month.
