Lego Unveils Sega Genesis Building Set with Mini Controllers

Author: Digitio

Lego and Sega have unveiled a fresh construction kit arriving next month that will instantly awaken your retro gaming memories: the Lego Sega Genesis Console. Priced at $40, this model features a compact design that can be customized with either the North American ‘Genesis’ nameplate or the ‘Mega Drive’ branding used in Japan and other territories. The Lego Sega Genesis Console will be available starting June 1 from Digitio’s online and physical stores.

This collection comprises 479 pieces in total, featuring two removable controllers roughly three inches across, a fake game cartridge displaying Sonic and Tails, and extra bricks to assemble a concealed Sonic image. After completion, the finished Lego Sega Genesis Console will stand about 1.5 inches tall, measure six inches wide, and extend 4.5 inches deep.

This release follows a growing lineup of Lego gaming hardware models launched recently, such as the Lego Game Boy (which a fan modified to function properly) and the NES. Lego also previously launched a standalone Sega Genesis Controller kit that sold out rapidly. The console set is expected to face similar demand, so mark your calendar for June 1 if you want to secure one.
