Although Apple Weather focuses less on major updates, two useful enhancements stand out:
– Rain forecast view
– Wind forecast view
Fundamentally, Apple has moved data that was once tucked away in separate menus and concealed screens to a prominently visible location.
Everyone recognizes the standard forecast display within the Weather application. This is typically one of the earliest elements encountered upon launching the app.
In iOS 27, Apple divides the forecast interface into three selections: Conditions, Precipitation, and Wind.
The Conditions option remains unchanged from previous versions. Now, simply pressing the newly introduced rain and wind icons allows navigation between Precipitation and Wind perspectives.
Activating either icon immediately refreshes both hourly and ten-day outlooks.
The Precipitation perspective provides daily rainfall probabilities for upcoming hours, along with precipitation likelihood accompanied by precise metrics and time-based projections spanning the next ten days. Likewise, the Wind section displays gust speeds per hour, and outlines expected conditions throughout the coming days.
I have been enjoying these improvements while using iOS 27. They present essential information more accessibly compared to prior versions while preserving the comfortable layout of the home screen.
