Update, 7:37 p.m. ET: Apple reports that all outages have been cleared except for Apple TV.
Apple is currently flagging issues with Apple TV and subscription purchases, and a few users are also seeing problems across other company services. Here are the details.
Apple’s System Status page now shows eight active incidents, covering Apple TV, the App Store, Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple Music Subscriptions, the Mac App Store, and Subscription Purchase.
According to Apple, most of the problems started at 4:22 p.m. ET. The App Store, Apple Music, and Mac App Store are listed as undergoing “routine maintenance, with no expected user impact,” while the Apple TV disruption began at 4:43 p.m. ET, with a notice that the service “may be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.”
In our tests, the Apple TV interface would not load on iOS devices, although content continued to stream and play normally on other platforms.
The outages appeared shortly after several apps — including TestFlight, the App Store, and Fitness+ — began showing internal localization strings instead of their usual interface text. It is unclear whether that glitch is connected to the broader system issues.
Downdetector reports also confirm the Apple TV problem, though the spike in reports has already peaked and is now declining, suggesting the outage may be easing.
We will keep tracking the situation and update this post when more information becomes available or Apple marks the issues as resolved.
