Half of United flights have Starlink Wi-Fi – here’s how to check yours

United Airlines first introduced Starlink Wi-Fi on its flights starting early in 2025, the airline says nearly half of its flights currently offer the high-speed satellite internet service. It’s now introduced a new way to let you check whether your flight has the service …

The airline says that it intends to hit 100% Starlink coverage by the end of next year, while current installation rates depend on the fleet. For mainline aircraft flying long distance routes, the current figure is 37%, while United Express regional jets have significantly greater coverage at 68%.

United already has more Starlink-equipped planes than any other airline in the world and is installing it on about 20 aircraft per week with plans to complete installations by the end of 2027. More than 250,000 United customers on average fly on a Starlink-equipped plane every day onboard more than 2,500 flights – nearly half the airline’s daily departures.

Starlink is now active on more than 635 United mainline and United Express aircraft and the airline has already flown more than 37.7 million passengers on Starlink-powered aircraft across more than 538,000 flights, powering 14 million devices.

United already notifies you about the availability of Starlink Wi-Fi in preflight emails and texts, but it’s now introduced a tracker in case of any equipment changes on your route. Airlines do sometimes need to swap aircraft at relatively short notice to account for issues like technical faults and flight cancellations that leave planes incorrectly positioned for their next scheduled flight.

Simply go to this tracking link within two days of your departure, entering your flight number and departure date. If you check further ahead, the tracker will show you the percentage likelihood based on recent flights on the same route, but it’s only within 48 hours that you’ll get a generally reliable answer.
