Apple is reportedly preparing to extend Car Key support in Apple Wallet to three more automakers: Lincoln, Freelander, and Lucid. The addition was spotted by Aaron Perris on X, who noticed the new manufacturers added to Apple’s backend code for Apple Car Key. However, backend changes do not guarantee immediate availability, and Apple has not yet confirmed which specific models will support the feature. This follows a series of similar backend updates that pointed to upcoming Car Key support from other brands, such as GWM’s Tank and Haval vehicles. Apple previously announced that Lucid would adopt Car Key, alongside brands like Acura, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Porsche, Rivian, and others. Launched at WWDC 2020, Apple Car Key lets drivers lock, unlock, and start compatible vehicles using an iPhone or Apple Watch, with support varying by manufacturer and model. Currently, the feature works with more than 50 vehicle models from brands including BMW, Mercedes‑Benz, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Toyota, and Rivian.
