Mark Gurman on X: “Apple is building its own game controllers for iPhone, could be Beats branded.”\\\nBloomberg reporter Mark Gurman confirmed recent findings in macOS beta code that Apple is developing its own iPhone game controllers.\nApple currently offers controllers such as the Backbone One (shown above) and the SteelSeries Nimbus+ via the Apple Store, and now aims to capture a share of the iPhone gamepad market.\nThe code revealed two controller models, identified as T6502 and T1057. These prototypes appear to include a D‑Pad, thumbsticks, haptic motors, and may feature an integrated accelerometer and gyroscope for motion sensing, though the final design remains undisclosed.\nGurman suggests the upcoming accessory could be launched under the Beats label, with Beats executives leading the effort. Beats products typically emphasize affordable pricing and more modest materials compared to Apple’s premium image.\nMeanwhile, users can pair MFI‑compatible controllers with Apple devices, as well as standard console controllers such as the PlayStation DualShock and Xbox Wireless Controller.\nAn Apple or Beats‑branded controller may also enhance the gaming experience on Apple TV 4K and increase engagement with the more advanced AAA titles now available on iOS and Mac.
