After releasing macOS 27.2 beta 1 earlier today, Apple is now rolling out the first release candidates of macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1. Here are the details.
Release candidates for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 are now available
In what appears to be a strategy to prevent premature disclosure of information about the iPhone Duo, Apple today issued the first developer betas of its 27.2 operating systems, effectively bypassing the 27.1 beta phase.
For Mac developers, alongside the release of macOS 27.2 beta 1, Apple has also provided the initial release candidates of macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1.
Both release notes reference only the standard “this update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users” statement, which is expected for such minor updates.
These release candidates from today come just days after Apple officially launched macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8, highlighting the company’s ongoing effort to expedite software development and resolve issues using AI-powered tools.
The build identifier for macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 RC 1 is 25G309, whereas the first release candidate for macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 carries the build number 24H208.
