Apple is poised to launch its inaugural foldable iPhone shortly.
Just before the event, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman leaked fresh details, revealing that the foldable iPhone will be called iPhone Duo.
The handset once referred to as iPhone Ultra is now identified as iPhone Duo.
Apple’s initial foldable iPhone marks the company’s debut with both an inner and outer screen, featuring a dual‑display design.
According to Gurman, the device will be priced at $1,999—equivalent to the cost of two standard iPhones—though this is lower than many analysts anticipated.
He adds that Apple is absorbing part of the recent memory‑chip price surge to maintain a competitive price for the iPhone Duo.
The iPhone Duo will be offered in white and dark‑blue finishes.
Gurman notes that the iPhone Duo will begin shipping in October, a few weeks after the expected launch of the iPhone 18 Pro later this month.
The keynote begins at 10 am PT, roughly 12 hours from now, with further updates expected throughout the day.
The complete story is available on Bloomberg.
