Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly series from Digitio where we bring you the newest apps in the indie app scene. If you’re a developer and want your app featured, reach out to us.
Calendar events are easy to overlook, particularly since they typically appear as standard notifications. Should you be in do not disturb mode or simply not glancing at your phone, you could miss them entirely. KeyAlarm lets you transform selected key calendar events into alarms, ensuring you’re always aware of what matters most.
Key features
Thanks to its name, KeyAlarm operates using keywords. Say you choose the term “Dentist”; any future calendar event containing that word in the title will automatically receive an alarm, eliminating the need to set one manually each time. You can also define how far ahead the alarm triggers, giving you plenty of time to travel or commute.
KeyAlarm also allows you to create multiple alarms for a single event. Want one reminder an hour beforehand and another just 15 minutes prior? The app supports that setup and will retain these settings for future occurrences.
Finally, you can assign an alarm to an entire calendar if preferred. For instance, if you maintain separate calendars for family gatherings, personal commitments, and work obligations, you can tailor alarms accordingly. Keyword-based triggering can be applied on a per-calendar basis instead of globally, all made possible by the new AlarmKit framework in iOS 26.
Download the app
KeyAlarm is free on the App Store for iPhones running iOS 26 or later. The app starts in trial mode, but after 30 days you’ll need to purchase it for just $0.99.
