Apple rolled out iOS 27 to everyone last week, along with a wide range of new Siri and Apple Intelligence features. Among the most significant additions is a dedicated Siri app, marking the first time Siri has come preinstalled as a standalone app for iPhone users.
The Siri app in iOS 27
Once you install iOS 27, the new Siri icon will appear on your iPhone’s Home Screen. The app will also arrive on Mac with macOS 27, Vision Pro with visionOS 27, iPad with iPadOS 27, and Apple Watch with watchOS 27.
In iOS 27, the Siri app lets you review past Siri conversations and begin new ones with ease. It syncs through iCloud, allowing you to pick up conversations on any of your Apple devices. The app uses a chat-style layout that displays a feed of earlier conversations, and you can upload photos and files for Siri to analyze.
The Siri app connects with the new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features introduced in iOS 27. These capabilities include access to broad world knowledge, personal context from across your iPhone, and more. Siri AI can also identify what is displayed on your screen and respond to questions about it.
Using that personal context, Siri AI can draw on items such as your messages, emails, photos, and other information to answer questions tailored to you.
Siri app compatibility in iOS 27
The Siri app will not be available for every iPhone. It is limited to models that support Apple Intelligence, including the iPhone 15 Pro and later:
