Pioneer, the creator of many popular CarPlay head units, is expanding into iPhone accessories for the first time. The company has launched a complete range of in-car iPhone gear, featuring a MagSafe wireless charger and phone mount.
Pioneer’s lineup of iPhone accessories includes:
– Three new MagSafe vent mounts. There is a mount-only model, one with MagSafe charging, and another with MagSafe charging plus a built-in cooling fan.
– Dual-port car charger: Your classic in-car dual-port charger with USB-C and USB-A ports.
– USB-C cables: Available in silicone and braided finishes, supporting wired CarPlay.
Pioneer has produced excellent gear over the years, so it is intriguing to see it venture into more conventional iPhone accessories. My preferred recommendation for an in-car USB-C charger is one with a retractable cable. The unit I currently use appears to have been discontinued, but this one from UGREEN serves as a great alternative.
